The University of Maine, in partnership with three coastal Maine communities (Bar Harbor, Bath, and South Portland) is excited to present the Reusable Food Packaging Research Project. The research is part of a UMaine/NOAA Marine Debris Reduction grant that targets marine debris through two strategies: source reduction and material replacement of single-use plastics. The Pilot program will offer opportunities for food service businesses in South Portland to replace disposable takeout packaging with reusable alternatives for approximately 3-4 months to start!
