[ARCHIVED] South Portland Police Department Active Investigation

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The South Portland Police Department (SPPD) is currently investigating events that occurred at and near Long Creek Youth Development Center, tonight, July 26, 2024. This is an active investigation. Police responded to the report of an attempted escape at Long Creek just after 7:30 PM. Minutes later, police responded to a separate report of a strong-armed robbery with threat of a firearm at 10 Liberty Lane parking lot. No weapon was sighted. Two young male suspects fled in the stolen vehicle, a white Honda Civic with Maine Barbara Bush license plate #401BBK. SPPD is asking anyone who spots the vehicle not to approach and report it by dialing 911. South Portland Police will post here on our Facebook page as updates become available.
