Facilities

Whether you are looking for athletic fields, Ski trails, or a place to relax the Recreation Complex is the hidden gem of South Portland. The complex has over 66 acres of developed athletic fields which include: baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse, soccer, hurling and football. The recreation complex also plays host to the Greenbelt Walkway that connects a 6 mile bike/walking trail to Bug Light Park. In The Winter months Wainwright turns in to a Winter Wonderland filled with opportunities to use our Cross Country Skiing groomed trails and snowshoeing around the complex. Please view our General User Policy (PDF) for more information on using the fields.

Field Rentals

To inquire about field availability, please contact Rick Perruzzi at eperruzzi@southportland.gov. Fields available for rent are only allowed to be used by those who have obtained a permit from the South Portland Recreation Department. Visit southportlandme.myrec.com to reserve a field.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed on any athletic field area (including fenced in fields, any field lined, or any area that is used for organized activities). Dogs must be on leash while using the Greenbelt Pathway. 

Ski Trails

Wainwright offers ski trails as another form of passive recreation for the community. The trials can be used for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and walking.
